01ABOUT THIS ROLE

HypeHaus launches Mumbai's premium nightlife platform in 6 months. We need someone who knows the city's tastemakers — the editors at GQ India, Vogue, Brut, the producers covering the nightlife scene, the writers on culture beats. The PR Manager's first 90 days set our narrative arc through M6 launch and beyond. We're self-funded, so the playbook isn't 'spend agency budget' — it's relationships, story angles, and execution.

02WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build the press list for HypeHaus across Mumbai's lifestyle, business, and culture press — 80–120 contacts deep, segmented by beat
  • Pitch launch coverage to 5–8 tier-1 publications for M6 launch month — secure 3+ confirmed before launch week
  • Run founder media training and interview prep ahead of the launch press cycle
  • Own the press release calendar — partnership announcements, milestone moments, venue launches
  • Draft the brand voice doc for press, with the founder, and defend it across every external mention
  • Build a crisis comms playbook before we need it — nightlife is a regulated category and we will get questions
  • Run the Mumbai launch event press list end-to-end — invites, hosting, follow-up
  • Track every published mention, sentiment, and reach in a shared tracker the founder reads weekly
03WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 3–6 years in lifestyle, entertainment, hospitality, or consumer PR — agency or brand-side, both count
  • Existing relationships with Mumbai's culture press (bring your contact map)
  • A writer's hand — you draft the press release, you don't outsource it
  • Comfort with self-funded reality — no PR firm budget, no agency to delegate to. You ARE the PR function
  • Strong instinct for what's actually a story vs. what's a press release nobody will run
  • Sharp on India's media landscape: who runs what beat, who reads who, what kills a pitch
  • Bonus: prior launch experience for a consumer brand entering a new city or category
04WHEN THIS ROLE OPENS

We open this role when revenue can sustain it — likely Wave 2 onwards. When we do, expect: top-decile cash for an early-stage self-funded startup, meaningful ESOP (4-year vest, 1-year cliff), direct collaboration with the founder, and a small team with big ownership.
